Non discrimination Policy

SPOTAHOME was conceived to eliminate communication and language barriers between landlords and tenants from all parts of the world. SPOTAHOME was created to make the world your home.

Therefore, SPOTAHOME is a community committed to guaranteeing the inclusion, safety, dignity and respect of all its users: Real Estate Agents, Owners and Resident which work with us must comply at any time with SPOTAHOME Non Discrimination Policy. All our users deserve respect and SPOTAHOME shall not tolerate any behaviour that constitutes discrmination of any kind.

SPOTAHOME is a young Spanish company composed by people from all over the world. Likewise, since 2014, we have connected users of more than 70 different countries.

By accepting SPOTAHOME’s Terms and Conditions, all users (Owners, Residents and professionals of the Real Estate) undertake not to express any kind of discrimination regarding race, ethnicity, religion, gender, age, nationality, sexual orientation or marital status against any person or group of people.

Specific Guidance for Listings

  • No advertisement shall contain any information or mention related to any preferences in favour of or against Residents regarding race, ethnicity, religion, gender, age, nationality, sexual orientation and/or marital status or any other information of any kind that may have an influence on the booking request made by the Resident.
  • No booking request shall be rejected based on reasons like race, ethnicity, religion, gender, age, nationality, sexual orientation and/or marital status or any other information of any kind which constitute discrimination or preference.
  • Shared and/or co-living spaces might have rules to ensure the privacy of all its residents (some spaces shall be rented only for one gender) or to ensure the correct communal living as well as the allocation of expenses (some spaces shall admit the use of the space on an individual basis only and some space shall charge a higher amount if the space is used by a couple; said amount shall have to be proportional).

What happens if a Listing does not comply with Spotahome’s discrimination policy.

If a listing contains language contrary to this No discrimination policy, SPOTAHOME shall contact the user who listed the property and will request to delete the mentioned language. Besides, SPOTAHOME shall request the user to affirm his or her understanding and intent to comply with the present policy.

In any case, SPOTAHOME shall be entitled to unpublish any listing which constitute discrmination of any kind and to suspend any user whose actions are motivated by factors prohibited by this policy at its sole discretion.

Likewise, if a booking is rejected due to any of the reasons stated in this Policy, or the behaviour of the user implies that the booking was rejected by said reasons, SPOTAHOME will take the necessary steps  to enforce this policy including the suspension of the user.
