What happens if the owner does not return my deposit?

What happens if the owner does not return my deposit?

If the landlord does not return the security deposit within the time period specified in your rental agreement, you should first contact your landlord directly to find out the status of the security deposit refund. If you do not receive an update, you should contact us as soon as possible to help you make contact with the owner (we recommend that you contact us at the earliest 30 days after your departure). Spotahome can help you recover the funds by entering into mediation with the owner or advising you on the next steps. Please note that disputes over security deposits are best handled between landlords and tenants in accordance with our terms and conditions, as Spotahome is not a party to the tenancy agreement.
