What payments do I need to charge from the tenant?

At Spotahome, we manage payment processes to ensure a smooth rental experience for both landlords and tenants. For all bookings, these types of payments are handled in the same way:

    1. First Payment Collection: Spotahome collects the first month rental from the tenant, covering the initial 30 days from the check-in date. This amount is transferred to the landlord 48 hours after the check-in, provided the property meets required standards.
    2. Additional Charges: It is the landlord’s responsibility to directly charge the tenant for any additional payments beyond the first month rental. This includes:
      1. Security deposit
      2. Utility bills
      3. Administration fees
      4. Other applicable charges agreed upon in the rental agreement
However, depending on your plan with Spotahome, other months' rent payments (after the initial 30 days payment) may be handled differently:
  1. Spotahome Standard Plan: For landlords on the Standard plan, every rent payment after the first one has to be collected directly by the landlord from the tenant, without Spotahome acting as intermediary.
  2. Spotahome Plus Plan: For landlords on the Plus plan with rent collection enabled, Spotahome’s team manages the monthly rent collection from tenants. We then proceed to make these rent payments directly to the landlord via our trusted partner payment platform Stripe.
